Retail Design Solutions approached us to re-design their current website which is currently in production. One of the key aspects to the re-design was to portray the size of the company, over 30 employees, along with showcasing the specialist skill set and renowned client base that they have. We instantly thought of using photography to portray the right messages which would be used on the website and also for future marketing material. We visited their offices for the day where we took photographs of the building and personnel. Everyone was very helpful and we captured some great photographs of the team, including the resident dog, which can be seen on their new website shortly.

Beautiful websites with typography to match

In our first newsletter we spoke a little about the possible future of fonts for the Internet and how new services and technologies were emerging that would make it simple to use “non-web-safe fonts” on our websites.
As a quick recap, the current issue with fonts on websites is that in order for a website to display text in a specific font, that font must be installed on the user’s computer. The list of fonts that are (almost) guaranteed to be on every computer is tiny (around 10). This gives us extremely limited options when choosing a font for the text of a site.
Thousands of other fonts are available to use but are restricted by licensing and cannot be distributed.
We have, however started testing and using third-party web font services such as Typekit. These services take care of all the licensing requirements and allow us access to vast libraries of fonts.
So, at the end of the day what’s the advantage of all this font business? Simply put, beautifully designed websites with typography to match that is clean, accessible, user friendly and search engine friendly.
Design consistency for web and print

We have recently been working on logo design, website and magazine adverts for 123 App. The design consistency can be seen throughout each piece which is imperative to the overall brand identity. Over time this type of consistency builds a visual language allowing the viewer to recognise and make a connection to your company through colour, typeface and layout.

If you would like us to take a look at the overall design consistency of your business please give us a call. We’d be happy to discuss the presentation of your business and make suggestions to assist with the efficiency of your brand identity.

We were privileged to donate our services to design and build the Jodisworld.tv website. The idea for the site came from the family of a little girl called Jodi who passed away in March this year from aplastic anaemia. Her family have been working to raise money for The Sick Children’s Trust and we hope the site will go on to help them keep raising funds for this charity.

DMK Marketing

We have just completed the branding, website and stationery design for DMK Marketing. The brief was to create a professional, yet approachable identity. A key phrase from the brief was ‘individual parts creating a whole’, this has been typographically represented in the design for the logo.

The colours that were used and the clean styling convey professional and approachable characteristics. The brief was to avoid imagery such as business people in standard poses, so we used a metaphor to convey the promotional work of marketing by using the display and presentation of the peacock.

We posted back in December that we have been working with SBZ Corporation to develop a series of sister/microsites to help them promote their ever increasing range of services and products.
Not only have we been developing the microsites but we have also redesigned and developed SBZ’s corporate site, bringing the company’s entire web presence up to date.
The work for the corporate site included collaborating with SBZ on reworking their logo, designing and developing some custom, interactive Flash features and developing a calculator interface and framework.
The Flash elements on the corporate site are used to tie in and promote the new microsites as well as the e-commerce sister site Liquid Spill Solutions.
